I graduated from the University of Limerick with a Degree in European Studies and began working with Canada Life in the New Business Department.
The New Business Department is always a hive of activity and is a rewarding and exciting place to work. Handling new business properly and efficiently is a critical function of the financial services industry.
After three years, a new team was created within the Department and I was promoted to Team Leader. After 5 years as Team Leader of this Team I was promoted to New Business Manager.
We have a strong emphasis on teamwork in New Business so that our brokers and sales intermediaries receive the best service possible. We continuously face strong competition in the marketplace and therefore need to ensure that Canada Life’s products are administered properly so that we can build relationships with our clients and brokers and pave the way for continued business in the future.
Opportunities for advancement often arise in the company whether it is in your own department or in another one. While working in the New Business Department there are opportunities to liaise with other departments daily and you can gain appreciation for the work that is completed in those areas.
