I graduated from University of Ulster with a BA in Business Management and joined Canada Life working in the Pensions Department on the systems conversion project. I then decided to take a year out and travel. Upon return, I rejoined Canada Life working in the Claims Department. After some time, I was given the opportunity to pursue the professional accountancy qualification (ACCA), and transferred to the Finance Department.
Canada Life offers full study support in terms of paying course and exam fees and providing generous study leave. Thanks to the support and encouragement from management and colleagues, I have recently passed my exams and am fully qualified. My role within the Management Accounts area involves reporting and analysing sales results and participating in project work.
Working in the Finance Department is a constant challenge, and Canada Life offers excellent support in terms of career and personal development. It is great to be part of a company that has a clear and focused strategy and knows where they want to be.
