The bad news is that both State and private pension structures are facing increasing difficulties in providing us with secure income during our retirement years.
Canada Life has today announced the launch of the Canada Life Approved Retirement Fund with lifelong income benefit.
Now for the first time in Ireland, an Approved Retirement Fund (ARF) is available with lifelong income benefit which gives people a secure, predictable and guaranteed income for life and access to their retirement fund when they need it.

Once again Canada Life sponsored the 'Into the West' charity cycle to raise funds for breast cancer research carried out by the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (N.B.C.R.I). This event is held annually in September and consists of a 300km cycle ride from Mullingar to Galway and back.
In May of this year the Government announced the introduction of a compulsory levy on certain types of pension schemes. The levy aims to raise about €470 million each year to pay for a new jobs initiative to promote job creation in Ireland. The levy is intended to be a temporary one, beginning in 2011 and ending in 2014.
